Julie Suarez Cormier, LAc, MAOM, is an NCCAOM board-certified Diplomate in Acupuncture, as well as a Licensed Acupuncturist in New York and Vermont.
She holds a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from the New England School of Acupuncture. During the intensive 3 1/2 year program at NESA she
studied Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, Chinese herbology, Oriental medical nutrition, and Qi Gong.
Julie has been active in acupuncture in New York City since 2001. She co-founded Acupuncture on Park, LLP, in midtown Manhattan with two of her colleagues from acupuncture school. They held weekly support groups for women dealing with infertility. In 2004, Julie opened a private practice in lower Manhattan where she provided acupuncture treatments until moving to Vermont with her husband in 2006. Now Julie is back in New York City and is ready to try a new setting for her clinic. After visiting Andy Wegman's community acupuncture clinic in Manchester, NH, she felt inspired to provide affordable treatments to the people of New York.
Julie began her career in wholistic medicine after graduating with a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, where her focus was Genetics
and Developmental Biology. She finds that her background in scientific research is a useful complement to her Traditional Chinese Medicine approach, especially
when working with clients' primary care physicians. Tying Western and Eastern medicine together is her specialty!
